In order to meet its legislative, regulatory and funding requirements, Civic Kindergarten has implemented a Policy Manual, covering the seven Quality Areas of the National Quality Standard per below:

Quality Area 1: Educational Program and Practice
Quality Area 2: Children’s Health and Safety
Quality Area 3: Physical Environment
Quality Area 4: Staffing Arrangements
Quality Area 5: Relationships with Children
Quality Area 6: Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
Quality Area 7: Leadership and Service Management

Within each of these areas, are individual policies covering a range of requirements. A policy is defined by the ELAA (Early Learning Association Australia) PolicyWorks Manual v2 as “a formal statement of principles, which provides a framework for decision making and indicates the course of action to be taken in specific circumstances. Policies provide services with an approved way of operating in relation to particular matters and improve the management of risk.  They reflect the values and beliefs of a service, current thinking, national standards and community expectations and are relevant in terms of current laws and regulations.”
